Terrain

Hi guys, I am new to this Mapscape program, I have a lot of experience with 3dworld studio; however, it is not supported under windows 8.1 sadly... So I have figured out how to morph,flatten, and smooth the terrain, but how in the world do i paint it. I tried clicking the paint button then clicking layer1 and then selecting the texture i want and clicking apply but it still doesn't work. What am i doing wrong? can someone give me some sort of guidance.

Never mind guys i found the enable blendmap property under edit... problem solved
