I cant install the new version of treeit

Hello,
I am currently trying to install the new version of TreeIt. But when i try to install it with the exe nothing opens and when i try to use the zip the programm doesnt open.
Has anyone a fix for this problem?

Same issue here. Nothing opens. I am trying to use zip version of the latest build 1/5/2023.

EDIT: I just tried the older versions of Tree it and they aren't opening either. I am suspecting this might be a Windows Update or Nvidia driver issue?

If the applcation fails to run:

1.Make sure Directx 9 redistributable is installd.

2. Make sure msvcp71.dll & msvcr71.dll are located
in your C:/windows directory.

3. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable

I saw this:
A security issue has been identified leading to a vulnerability in MFC applications that are built with Visual Studio 2008 and ship the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package.
Does this mean Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable isn't safe to use on your PC? Any chance Treeit can be upgraded to a newer Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for security reasons?

I have uninstalled it just to be on the safe side. Does anyone know what that message means and if its nothing to worry about.

I am guessing Windows Update removed Directx 9 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable due to security reasons or because they are outdated? or Windows update just mistakenly removed them?

Wanted to also add I very much appreciate the work of the dev and the regular updates and thank you for making it free.

Edit: using this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=26368 I could download the file. I tried both 64x and 86x and now it works!

I have the same issue.

I also went through the check list from the readme (If the applcation fails to run:) and nr3 (Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable) is no longer available on the site.

I can now install the software using administrator mode but it still doesn't do anything once it's installed. The program doesn't start, not in admin, nor in any other way.
